GOING APE…AGAIN!

The original is a classic but I have fond memories of seeing the first sequel Beneath the Planet of the Apes at the Westbury Drive-in on Long Island. Totally thrilling and meant to bring the series to closure (it didn’t as box office $$$ talk), the marauding gorillas scared me, the atom bomb-loving, masked human mutants creeped me out, and the bare-chested James Franciscus titillated me even though I was only about ten!
