    HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD!

    February 22, 2011 by sixties

Click here for some photos from the most recent Hollywood Show held in Burbank, CA.  One of my childhood faves Marta Kristen from Lost in Space attended and she still is as lovely as ever as is Nancy Kwan another attendee.

In my Dueling Harlows book from McFarland & Company, Inc., Publishers:
Carol Lynley is Jean Harlow in Harlow produced by Bill Sargent in Electronovision for Magna Pictures. Carroll Baker is Jean Harlow in Harlow produced by Joseph E. Levine for Paramount. Although the producers feuded throughout the making of their movies, Carol and Carroll never met until the mid-1990s. They hit it off and remained good friends until Lynley's death in 2019.

There were laughs but seemed more with the characters than at them. Even the hapless Nonnie, whom some modern day audiences get so frustrated with due to her helplessness, was not ridiculed. In honor of that, I present my article on her from the great magazine CinemaRetro’s special issue from 2012. ... See MoreSee Less

Although I would not call any of them "forgotten," this is a wonderful tribute to some of my favorite actresses of the 1960s. Included are Carol Lynley, Pamela Tiffin, Tina Louise, Dolores Hart, Sue Lyon, Stella Stevens, Paula Prentiss, and a few others that I have no qualms with. The only one included that I so dislike is Diane Baker. I would have swapped her out for Yvette Mimieux. www.giantfreakinrobot.com/msn/01forgotten-1960s-actresses-who-deserve-a-spotlight.html?fbclid=IwY... ... See MoreSee Less
