CINEMA RETRO

Check out the fabulous new issue of Cinema Retro on selected newsstands now. It contains wonderful articles on Casino Royale featuring interviews with ’60s starlets Barbara Bouchet and Caroline Munro; Hang ’em High; The Man from UNCLE movie One of Our Spies Is Missing; an interview with Michael York; and a piece on Elvis Presley and his starlets written by moi. It covers 1960 to 1964 and contains comments and anecdotes from starlets Darlene Tompkins, Laurel Goodwin, Cynthia Pepper, Lori Williams, Joan Staley, and Drive-in Dream Girl cover girl Sue Ane Langdon. Part II will be in the next issue released in January.

CHILLER!

I will be attending the annual Chiller Theatre Halloween Convention on Oct. 27 and 28 in the Meadowlands area of New Jersey. Joining me will be Adam Phillips from my publisher McFarland and Co. plus sixties starlets BarBara Luna, Beverly Washburn, Cynthia Pepper, and Fantasy Femme cover girl Celeste Yarnall (pictured above with Walter Koenig), who was featured in a story this past Sunday in the New York Times’ Arts and Leisure section about actors who appeared on TV’s Star Trek years ago who have become much in demand at these conventions.

IT’S BEACH BLANKET BINGO TIME!!!
Tonight is the opening of the new musical Go-Go Beach a parody of the Frankie and Annette Beach Party films of the ’60s that I love so much. I will be attending with former beach movie star Gail Gerber and her friend actress Angelica Torn (daughter of actor Rip Torn and the late great Geraldine Page). For more info on this limited run musical, click here.
