TREK BABE SUPREME

Goofa Man Productions  has launched a very entertaining animated short called Trek Babe Supreme, which dares to answer the question, “Which Star Babe in all of the ORIGINAL Star Trek series is the most awesome?”

Among the top contenders were Barbara Luna, Susan Oliver, Yvonne Craig, Leslie Parrish, Celeste Yarnall, Lee Meriwether. Arlene Martel, Sally Kellerman, Joan Collins, Susan Johnson, etc. Click the below to find the surprising winner, which I do not personally agree with.

IF IT’S CAROL LYNLEY, DON’T HANGUP!

In 1974, Brian Clemens, famous for giving the world The Avengers, created the British TV-anthology series Thriller. These were one hour episodes videotaped in London usually starring one or two American actors in the lead. The show came over to America a year or two later and was televised as part of ABC-TV’s late night lineup as Wide World of Mystery.

One of the best episodes, that even received a video release, was If It’s a Man, Hangup! starring Carol Lynley as a fashion model being harassed by an obscene phone caller. Clemens truly dials up the suspense as it is a guessing game until the end on who in the men in her life (including Tom Conti) is the sicko. Carol looks beautiful (it was around the time she was co-starring with Geraldine Page on Broadway in the hit comedy Absurd Person Singular) and gives another effective performance as the damsel in distress. Below are link to parts 1 and 2.

THIS HILL HAS CURVES GALORE

One of the most talented starlets of the day in my opinion was Marianna Hill (profiled in my book Glamour Girls of Sixties Hollywood).  She was the typical 60s actress appearing in various roles on all the top TV shows and on the big screen worked in B-horror movies, big budget productions such as Howard Hawks' racecar drama Redline 7000 and was one of Elvis' leading ladies in Paradise, Hawaiian Style

But as a lot of her contemporaries' careers wound down during the 70s Marianna hit her stride (and disrobed on screen) in an eclectic mix of movies including the violent westerns El Condor (a personal favorite) and High Plains Drifter; two of the strangest horror movies of the day The Baby and Messiah of Evil; the acclaimed The Godfather, Part II; and the hippie movie Thump Trippin' where as a unhappily married woman she strips to her bra and panties and go-go dances at a redneck bar as in the clip below:
