A BOOK TO READ

Prolific producer/screenwriter/film historian Michael B. Druxman has just written his autobiography entitled My Forty-Five Years in Hollywood…and How I Escaped Alive from Bear Manor Media.  And he also found time to head his own PR company representing some of Hollywood’s biggest stars to aspiring starlets to popular TV shows in between his making movies.  His autobiography promises to be a fascinating read with stories about such big names as Elvis Presley, Cary Grant, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, the cast of Dallas, and many others.  Below is a link to Michael’s web site and to Bear Manor Media:

R.I.P.

Sad to report that Film Fatale Ahna Capri was killed in a car accident over the weekend in LA.  S he began as a child actress in the 50s and morphed into a sexy 60s starlet who resembled a cross between Sandra Dee and Joey Heatherton with a lot more fire.  Using the name Anna Capri appearing in such films as Kisses for My President and The Girls on the Beach (co-star Gail Gerber remembers Anna as “such a lovely girl.  I remember when first meeting her I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was.”)   She popped up all over TV in such series as The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Wild Wild West, The Invaders, Run for Your Life, and It Takes a Thief.

In the 70’s, ala Mariana Hill, she changed her name to Ahna Capri and began to show the world she had more talent than previously being given credit especially in Payday (1972) opposite Rip Torn (see below).  She reached cult status with her appearance in Enter the Dragon (1973) with Bruce Lee and as The Specialist (1975).  She retired from acting in 1979.
