RAQUEL IN THE WEST

I have always been a Raquel Welch and spaghetti western fan so I think when one of her best movies is the revenge tale Hannie Caulder, which will finally be available on DVD in July. Though American produced and filmed, it has that offbeat Italian feel to it and Raquel is just awesome as a womann viciously raped and left for dead by three vile varmints Ernest Brognine, Strother Martin and Jack Elam. Raquel teams up with bounty hunter Robert Culp to track down and kill the men who did her wrong.

This along with El Condor starring Jim Brown, Lee Van Cleef and Marianna Hill are my two fave westerns from the early seventies.

RETURN TO THE SCREEN

Marlyn Mason (The Trouble with Girls, Makin’ It, and numerous TV appearances) is back in front of the camera again starring in the short film, The Bag, which she also wrote. The film is near completion, and has been entered in the Rhode Island Film Festival, August 10th. Pictured below is Marlyn, with co-star Richard Erdman.

TEEN QUEEN

If you read my Blog, you know that I am a huge fan of Carol Lynley, the adult Carol Lynley post-1962. Prior to that, teenage Carol never impressed me. However, the clip below from the Robert Altman directed episode “The Young One” from Alfred Hitchcock Presents really impressed me. Playing a manipulative teen desperate to leave her overprotective aunt and her small town, Carol actually shows some intensity and she dances too!
