Former British starlet and Bond Girl Valerie Leon (she has a small role in The Spy Who Loved Me and a number of memorable bikini scenes in Never Say Never Again) will be performing her one-woman show scheduled for March 19 at the Maltings Arts Theatre in St. Albans, not in Queens but in merry ole England. Valerie will reminisce about her fascinating career in the film industry, which includes working with Roger Moore and Sean Connery as well as her work in the popular Carry On movies.

A STARLET CAN’T LIVE ON RESIDUALS ALONE
This is a new one even for the ’60s actresses. Joanna Pettet, former Bond Girl (Casino Royale) and Queen of the bad ’70s TV-movies (Weekend Nun, Pioneer Woman), is giving a lecture on the relationship between the actor and the costumer at a sewing costume academy in California. Who knew there was an academy for sewers?

WELCOME TO FANTASY ISLAND!
Carol Lynley holds the record for most guest appearances on the hit TV show Fantasy Island from 1978 to 1984 and that doesn’t even count her co-starring role in the original 1977 made-for-TV movie. In my interview with her, she remarked “I went on and off that island so many times. When they couldn’t get someone they called me. I paid for my daughter’s college education from working on that show.”
