Last week Hollywood paid tribute to 1960s icons Annette Funicello and Dolores Hart. At the Disney studios they named a soundstage in honor of the late Annette Funicello who passed away a few weeks ago. Former mouseketeers were in attendance sharing stories about her time on The Mickey Mouse Club and then former movie co-stars Frankie Avalon and Dwayne Hickman shared anecdotes from the Beach Party movies.

Mother Dolores Hart was in town for a book signing party in honor of her memoir The Ear of the Heart: An Actress’ Journey from Hollywood to Holy Vows. She got to reconnect with a number of her co-stars and LA friends.

Wonderful stuff. Do we know who the other attending Mouseketeers were, in addition to Bobby Burgess?

    • Sorry most stories did not list by name all attendees.

I caught a video of the Annette event on YT. It appeared that all (or nearly all) of the surviving Mouseketeers were there, including Sharon Baird, Darlene Gillespie, Bobby Burgess, Cubby O’Brien, Tommy Cole, Sherri Alberoni, Doreen Tracy, Paul Peterson and Johnny Crawford. You’d have to be pretty cynical in my book not to react emotionally to this tribute.

Interesting to hear that Darlene Gillespie was there, as her life took quite a dark path for a number of years. I hope that she’s gotten her act together. I also hope that somebody filmed that tribute.
