  1. A bit off the subject perhaps, but a little bird has told me that CATALINA CAPER starring Tommy Kirk will air on TCM in early June. That’s a pretty rare title, never released on home video. Crown International hasn’t previously found satisfactory film elements for it, so I can only wonder what print source TCM will use.

    • Thanks John for the heads up. Too bad it wasn’t ready for the Spring Break Film Festival. It would have fit right in. Another one I will have my DVR revved up for.

  2. Fun to see the intros, although I’ve only watched two of them. I’m recording the other two films and will see those tomorrow. I was hoping for outros after the films, since neither one took up the full two hour time block.

Tom, I hope you enjoyed the experience. You seemed a bit nervous at the start, but “warmed up” as you went along. Maybe the exposure will sell some of your books!

    • Thanks, first two were alright. I was much happier with Girl Happy intro as we talked more about the behind-the-scenes stuff though they cut a Chris Noel story. Haven’t watched Blue Hawaii intro yet. We’ll see how it goes.

    • About how Elvis had flowers for Shelley Fabares and Mary Ann Mobley on first day of shoot, but none for Chris and Lyn Edgington. She said, “Elvis, why don’t we have any flowers? Don’t you like us?” They had flowers in their dressingroom from him for the rest of the shoot. Actually all the intros had a lot cut, which I knew they would.
